About the Role
Join SYOS Aerospace as a Bid Manager and take full ownership of the entire bidding process that will influence the company's future direction. As SYOS expands rapidly in aerospace and dual-use sectors, your leadership in managing complex bids will be central to this growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee formal responses to RFIs, RFPs, ITTs, and tenders from initial qualification through final submission.
- Manage the gated bid process including making go/no-go decisions and conducting stage reviews.
- Develop and maintain timelines, coordinate internal review stages, and ensure participants meet deadlines.
- Handle submission logistics, including procurement portal management and communication with clients and authorities.
- Collaborate with Commercial teams to develop and integrate clear win themes into bid strategies.
- Perform competitor and market analysis to inform and refine bidding approaches.
- Support pricing strategy including price-to-win positioning.
- Create high-quality, consistent, and branded proposal documents that combine technical, commercial, and leadership inputs into clear narratives.
- Ensure all submissions meet accuracy, compliance, security, and export-control requirements.
- Coordinate across commercial, technical, and executive stakeholders to align efforts and keep teams focused.
- Exercise influence over contributors without direct authority and maintain team composure under deadline pressures.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in bid management, proposal development, or capture roles, preferably in defense or dual-use environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of defense procurement processes and the bid lifecycle.
- Strong commercial insight and business acumen.
- Technical literacy sufficient to engage effectively with engineering and product teams.
- Excellent writing skills capable of translating complex information into compelling narratives.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal hierarchy.
- Equanimity and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of security, export control, and compliance matters relevant to defense sector bidding.
Engineering qualifications are not mandatory, but comfort engaging with technical teams to validate bid credibility is essential.
