About the Role
Join Bentley Systems as a Bid Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in managing high-stakes infrastructure project bids worldwide. This position, based in Brisbane, Australia with options for home-based or hybrid working, demands rigorous coordination of multi-disciplinary teams to produce competitive and compliant proposals under strict deadlines.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and organize complex teams across departments such as Sales, Legal, Product, and Finance to unify efforts behind successful bid strategies.
- Ensure every submission rigorously meets user requirements, company policies, and compliance standards as the ultimate quality gatekeeper.
- Maintain strict discipline in managing proposal timelines to avoid last-minute rushes and enable early submission of top-quality bids.
- Manage all binding and non-binding bid opportunities, develop detailed bid plans and schedules, and coordinate inputs and reviews from contributors.
- Maintain regular communication with sales teams, participate in pipeline meetings, and provide detailed status updates and support for pursuit strategy execution.
- Implement and uphold best practices in bid management to enhance consistency, quality, and continuous process improvement, including capturing lessons learned.
Optional Responsibilities Involving Artificial Intelligence
- Utilize AI technologies to automate initial bid drafts and accelerate the bid lifecycle.
- Apply advanced prompt engineering to customize technical responses for client requirements.
- Employ AI tools to quickly summarize tender documents and identify compliance risks.
- Maintain AI content libraries for optimal automated question-answering performance and audit AI-generated content to ensure clarity and alignment with winning themes.
Additional Regional Contributions
- Support regional business expansion efforts, contribute to reporting and analytical insights, and assist sales enablement activities.

Qualifications
- Fluency in English, both written and oral; additional languages are advantageous.
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or related fields; alternatively, strong commercial experience in solution or IT provision is acceptable.
- At least 3 years of experience in bid, proposal, or tender management with a proven track record on complex, high-value bids such as public sector requests for proposals (RFPs) and information (RFIs).
- Certification in APMP at Foundation, Practitioner, or Professional levels.
- Familiarity with structured bid management methodologies, for example, Shipley Associates.
- Robust project management competencies, with certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 valued highly.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with Proposal Automation Tools are beneficial.
