Benefits Adviser

Position Summary

We are seeking a Benefits Adviser to assist employees in understanding and selecting their benefits options while managing the benefits program. This role requires a blend of in-depth benefits expertise and empathetic communication skills to demystify complex benefits choices.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide employees on health, retirement, and voluntary benefits during open enrollment periods and significant life changes.
• Manage benefits programs in coordination with insurance carriers and brokers.
• Conduct educational sessions and run communications campaigns to promote benefits understanding.
• Address and resolve employee concerns related to claims, eligibility, and coverage issues.
• Ensure compliance with legislative requirements including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and pertinent state laws.
• Assist with the annual review, design updates, and vendor selection processes for benefits offerings.

Required Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in benefits administration, brokerage, or as an HR generalist with significant benefits responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of US health, retirement, and leave benefit systems and regulations.
• Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and benefits platforms such as Workday, Rippling, Gusto, and BambooHR.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion.
• Certifications like CEBS, GBA, or RPA are advantageous.
