Job description
Overview
As a Bellperson at Rosewood Hotel Georgia, you will be responsible for transporting guests' luggage to and from their rooms, escorting guests upon arrival, and providing detailed information on hotel services and amenities. You will attend to guests’ immediate needs during their stay and maintain a thorough knowledge of hotel offerings. The role occasionally requires availability for overnight shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive understanding and compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Consistently uphold high service standards daily.
- Ensure proper maintenance and correct use of hotel equipment.
- Anticipate and promptly respond to guest needs and acknowledge all guests, regardless of workload or time of day.
- Maintain positive relationships with guests at all times.
- Be well-informed about hotel features, services, and local attractions to assist guest inquiries accurately.
- Arrive punctually at assigned workplace ready to start on time.
- Adhere to personal grooming and uniform standards.
- Participate in team briefings with Management on Duty (MOD) to review occupancy, VIP guests, groups, events, and any incidents.
- Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of designated work areas.
- Keep current on daily activities, arrivals, departures, outlet hours, and hotel services.
- Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles as required, provide claim checks, and instructions for vehicle retrieval.
- Greet guests on arrival and departure and assist them with vehicle access.
- Escort guests to Front Desk and introduce them to Front Desk Agents or relevant technology.
- Provide accurate directions within the hotel and local area.
- Document and report departmental activities and vehicle/luggage conditions promptly and accurately.
- Anticipate guest needs such as opening car doors, assistance with wheelchairs, or holding umbrellas.
- Manage valet tickets, keys, and equipment following company policies.
- Direct traffic at property entrance and assist with taxis and transportation.
- Confirm and tag guest luggage accurately, and transport it to and from rooms or holding areas.
- Assist guests with lost luggage and maintain the luggage storage area.
- Conduct orientation with guests regarding room features, safety exits, and provide demonstrations of room equipment use.
- Offer packing and unpacking assistance and explain laundry and pressing services.
- Maintain knowledge of scheduled hotel functions and direct guests accordingly.
- Respond promptly to Bell Stand telephone calls with proper etiquette.
- Remain at assigned posts in correct stance and appearance.
- Deliver messages, mail, packages, flowers, gifts, newspapers, and other sundry items to guest rooms promptly.
- Maintain the lobby and luggage areas, including cleaning and polishing equipment.
- Support concierge during busy times and assist door personnel and valet staff as needed.
- Respond effectively during emergencies, understanding Crisis Management and Contingency Plans.
- Report any relevant shift information or incidents to MODs.
- Perform any other management-assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality experience preferred, ideally in a similar role.
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to perform job tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize and organize work effectively.
- Good judgment and calm problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions thoroughly, understand guest service needs, and collaborate well with team members.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality of guest and hotel information.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel services and amenities with ability to give clear directions.
- Fluent English required for speaking, reading, and writing; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Physical stamina to handle luggage and perform work tasks involving movement and standing.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record and capability to operate both manual and automatic vehicles.
Compensation
This role offers an hourly wage ranging between $20.62 and $27.49 based on experience and qualifications.
