About Ability Action Australia
Ability Action Australia is dedicated to assisting NDIS participants aged 0–65 years to enhance their independence, confidence, and everyday success through supportive community engagement.
Role Overview
As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will act as a supporter, strategist, behaviour analyst, and calming presence when managing challenging behavioural situations. Your work will have deep, practical, and meaningful impacts on the lives of those you assist.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, develop, and implement evidence-based behaviour support plans.
- Set meaningful objectives within a positive behaviour support framework.
- Empower support networks including families, carers, and support workers by building their capabilities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
- Advocate for the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in allied health or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in interpreting, applying, reviewing, or formulating behaviour support plans.
- Possession of NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner status, or willingness to obtain BSP registration with organizational support.
- A strong commitment and passion for working within disability support.
- Experience managing complex and challenging behaviours.
- Effective interpersonal skills combined with proficient documentation and reporting capabilities.
