Bartender

Position Overview

The Salthill Hotel is seeking a dedicated Bartender to join their energetic team. Reporting directly to the Bar Manager, this role involves delivering welcoming and efficient service to guests while maintaining the highest standards behind the bar.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Consistently meet or exceed guest expectations concerning the preparation and presentation of cocktails and beverages.
• Prepare and replenish all drink garnishes throughout shifts to ensure continuous availability.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, strictly adhering to hotel sanitation protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to promote positive team morale across the hotel.
• Create and develop unique beverage menu selections and innovative cocktail recipes.
• Provide knowledgeable and precise service of drinks to all patrons, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Address guest requests and concerns promptly, offering appropriate and confident suggestions.
• Apply food service expertise as part of daily operations.
• Assist with bar inventory management, including deliveries and upkeep of storage, yard, and waste locations.
• Attend training sessions as required by management to uphold skill development.
• Report malfunctioning equipment and follow through with maintenance resolution swiftly.
• Adhere to financial procedures related to billing, shift closing, and cash balancing.
• Execute all reasonable additional tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.
• Ensure bar setups are completed ahead of shifts, complying with established operational standards.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules rigorously.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in bartending or a comparable role.
• Energetic, customer-oriented with the ability to perform efficiently under pressure.
• Comprehensive knowledge of various beer types, cocktails, and coffee preparations, with an aptitude for upselling.
• Possess a proactive "can do" mindset, able to work independently without close supervision.
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor paired with excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during holidays.
• Fluency in English is essential.
