Bartender-Lead

Position Overview

The Bartender-Lead role at Four Points by Sheraton in Kigali involves managing bar operations while ensuring excellent customer service in a lively, welcoming environment. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety compliance, and upholding quality and professional standards in beverage service.

Key Responsibilities

• Address customer inquiries about the origin, vintage, and styles of various wines.
• Inspect and verify the quantity and quality of all bar stock and supplies regularly.
• Prepare and submit orders for all necessary bar supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
• Restock alcoholic beverages timely to guarantee the availability of required bottle counts.
• Announce last call for service punctually according to closing hours.
• Craft drink orders accurately using measurement systems and specified recipes.
• Serve wine or champagne by uncorking and delivering bottles to customers.
• Manage cash registers by counting cash at shift end, completing required cash reports, resolving discrepancies, securely depositing earnings, and locking cash boxes.
• Ensure sufficient change is prepared for anticipated business levels while safeguarding the cash bank.
• Securely store all alcohol, beer, wine, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas by locking them appropriately.
• Proactively identify and communicate restocking needs promptly.
• Encourage teamwork, assist management with staff hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, motivation, mentorship, and serve as a role model.
• Adhere strictly to all corporate safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
• Maintain a professional appearance with clean uniforms and presentable grooming.
• Protect company confidentiality and assets diligently.
• Promote dignity and respect among colleagues and provide mutual support to the team to achieve shared goals.
• Comply with quality assurance standards and expectations.
• Physically capable of moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling items up to 50 pounds unassisted; standing, sitting, or walking throughout full shifts.
• Read and interpret information from various formats clearly, manipulate objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Perform movements such as reaching overhead, bending, twisting, stooping, navigating confined, elevated, inclined, or slippery surfaces, stairs, and ramps as necessary.
• Greet and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards and communicate politely and professionally, including phone etiquette.
• Listen attentively and respond appropriately to concerns from customers or teammates.
• Perform additional job duties assigned by management relevant to the position.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience: At least 1 year in a similar role.
• Supervisory experience: None required.
• Certification or licensing: None necessary.
