Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Bartender is vital in delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuring personalized, attentive, and polished service that aligns with Rosewood's standards. Responsibilities include:

• Providing guests with memorable dining experiences and upholding the brand promise
• Resolving guest and associate complaints promptly and courteously
• Maintaining positive and professional interactions with guests and coworkers
• Serving in a polite, helpful manner while maintaining a high level of professional appearance and hygiene, including adhering to uniform standards
• Adhering to scheduled work hours and breaks punctually
• Preparing the bar area before shifts, including replenishing supplies, ensuring cleanliness and functionality of equipment (CO2 lines, soda tanks, blenders, shakers, refrigeration units), and taking inventory
• Following opening and closing procedures accurately
• Managing bar sections effectively and providing knowledgeable answers to menu or drink inquiries
• Prioritizing guest needs, especially for special attention guests and regular patrons
• Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness throughout the work environment
• Communicating unresolved issues to supervisors and working cohesively within the team
• Properly stocking the bar and managing waste removal
• Ensuring cellar spaces and storage are well maintained

General Knowledge Expectations

• Comprehensive understanding of all beverage items, including wines, spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks
• Familiarity with all bar equipment, their uses, and locations
• Proficient use of the Point of Sale (POS) system
• Knowledge of bar operating supplies, garnishes, menu items, preparation methods, presentation, characteristics, and pricing
• Awareness of hotel occupancy, guest arrivals and departures, and special attention guests
• Knowledgeable about local attractions, neighborhood services, and upcoming Doha events including festivals and cultural happenings to respond effectively to guest inquiries
