Barista Lead

Overview

As a Barista Lead at Compass Group Canada in Toronto, you will deliver outstanding customer service while preparing and serving a variety of coffee and espresso beverages tailored to guest preferences. The role includes maintaining cleanliness, managing inventory, and supporting leadership responsibilities to enhance the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and espresso drinks accurately to customer specifications.
• Deliver superior customer service following the company's 7 Essentials of Customer Service Excellence and Optimum Service Training techniques.
• Maintain stock levels including milk, cold beverages, and other necessary items within the micro market.
• Perform side duties such as replenishing condiments, cleaning espresso machines, washing smallware, and maintaining seating areas.
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces every two hours or when visibly dirty.
• Manage coffee bean hopper refills and condiment station cleanliness and restocking.
• Maintain accurate waste records and ensure proper storage of discarded items.
• Record sales and transactions using the Volante system and utilize the WALTER clock for time management.
• Conduct weekly checks for expired items, following FIFO and FEFO protocols, and complete required health and safety logs.
• Collaborate with coworkers to uphold company standards in service, inventory, cash handling, hygiene, safety, and uniform policies.

• Capable of physical tasks including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The role requires regular standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. The noise level is typically moderate. Mathematical skills to compute basic calculations and fluency in spoken and written English are necessary.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Secondary school diploma or equivalent experience/training up to one month.
• Must be bondable.
