Role Overview

At Soho House, the Barback is a crucial support member contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the bar. Collaborating closely with the bartending team, your role ensures bartenders are fully equipped to deliver prompt and exceptional service to our members and guests.

Main Duties

• Quickly deliver drink orders from the bar to members’ tables throughout the restaurants.
• Maintain an immaculate and tidy work area at all times.
• Manage service and accountability within a designated section.
• Build rapport with members to offer personalized service experiences.
• Polish glassware meticulously to ensure readiness for service.
• Support bartenders during service by replenishing ingredients, transporting drinks, and retrieving necessary supplies from storage or cellar.
• Execute opening and closing station procedures, including setup and breakdown.
• Handle all service equipment with care and store it appropriately after use.
• Participate actively in regular meetings with front and back of house teams to stay informed on menu changes and daily tastings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role within bar operations.
• Fundamental knowledge of bar workflows, hygiene practices, and stock rotation.
• Demonstrate hospitality, approachability, passion for customer service, and respect toward team members and guests.
• Competency as defined by the training syllabus and Club School standards.
• Availability and flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Capability to follow instructions, work collaboratively in teams, and operate independently when needed.
