Overview

The Bar Back at Twin Peaks Restaurants plays a crucial role in supporting the bar operations by ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of all bar-related areas and equipment. The role demands a strong sense of pride, rigorous standards, and discipline in upholding the restaurant's beverage service standards alongside the bartenders.

Uniform Standards

  • Always wear a clean Twin Peaks black hat facing forward without bending the brim.
  • Maintain clean hair fully covered by the hat.
  • Be clean-shaven, although well-groomed beards and mustaches are permitted.
  • Keep fingernails trimmed at all times.
  • Jewelry is prohibited in ears, face, neck, or wrists.
  • Headphones or earbuds are not allowed during shifts.
  • Wear a clean, untarnished Twin Peaks kitchen shirt tucked in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow uniform and company policies to maintain a clean, sanitized bar.
  • Keep all workstations and equipment organized and spotless.
  • Observe House of Hospitality standards, Safety and Sanitation protocols, and Global Harmonization System (GHS) requirements consistently.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize tablets or computers for training purposes.
  • Support opening and closing tasks such as restocking the bar, cleaning, and mopping floors.
  • Ensure the bar remains adequately stocked at all times.
  • Manage keg changes, check taps and appliances for proper function and maintenance.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience working as a Bar Back is required.
  • English communication skills sufficient to understand cleaning and sanitation protocols.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and handle routine situations with minimal supervision.
  • Completion of orientation and compliance with Twin Peaks training policies is mandatory before unsupervised shifts.
  • Must complete all required trainings, including any food or alcohol service certifications per local and state rules.

Physical Requirements

This role involves standing and walking extensively, using hands and fingers to handle or carry items, and communicating verbally. The Bar Back must regularly reach with arms, lift or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally, and possess good close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.

Work Environment

The position exposes employees regularly to kitchen fumes and airborne particles. Occasional exposure to wet and humid conditions happens in dishwashing areas or walk-in coolers. Cleaning chemicals may be toxic or caustic, requiring care. Some restaurant locations have smoking areas where employees might encounter cigarette or cigar smoke.
