Role Overview

We seek a Backend Python Engineer with over three years of practical development experience focused on architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs. Candidates must possess solid Python programming fundamentals, hands-on exposure to production-grade backend systems, and familiarity with DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and CI/CD workflows.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and sustain scalable Python backend applications.
• Create and manage RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Produce clean, modular, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code in production environments.
• Optimize interactions with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL through sound design and tuning.
• Utilize asynchronous programming, job queues, background tasks, and caching as necessary.
• Diagnose and resolve issues affecting application performance, API responsiveness, memory, and other production concerns.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, logging, and error handling mechanisms.
• Containerize software using Docker technologies.
• Leverage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deployment processes.
• Deploy and maintain services in cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP.
• Work competently within Linux environments covering networking, configuration, and monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, architects, quality assurance, and DevOps teams.

Required Technical Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional software development experience emphasizing Python.
• Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, exception handling, concurrency, and asynchronous execution.
• Hands-on proficiency with FastAPI, Flask, or Django frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of REST API architecture and development methodologies.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including design, indexing, transactions, and query tuning.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Skill in writing unit and integration tests using tools like pytest.

DevOps and Cloud Expertise

• Practical understanding of Docker for containerization of applications.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent.
• Competence with Linux basics and shell command usage.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure components including virtual machines, networking, load balancers, storage solutions, and security principles.
• Basic awareness of Kubernetes orchestration considered a plus.
• Insight into application monitoring, centralized logging, and troubleshooting production environments.

Additional Advantages

• Experience with Redis and asynchronous task processing using messaging queues or Celery workers.
• Ability to build highly concurrent or asynchronous software applications.
• Familiarity with Nginx, reverse proxies, and API gateway technologies.
• Exposure to infrastructure automation tools like Terraform.
• Practical experience with major cloud service providers such as AWS, OCI, Azure, or GCP.
• Interest or background in integrating Large Language Models (LLM) or Generative AI APIs with backend services is beneficial.

Candidate Profile

The ideal engineer is hands-on, capable of end-to-end backend service ownership encompassing development, quality assurance, containerization, deployment, and production issue resolution. We prioritize candidates who understand the operational and security aspects of running Python code reliably in production.
