Job Overview
We are seeking a Backend Engineer to develop and sustain the core backend services for Sent's messaging platform. This role involves working on APIs, integrations, and backend components utilized daily by thousands of developers to send millions of messages worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs with clean, reliable, and well-tested code supporting Sent's multi-channel messaging systems.
- Ensure system reliability by owning uptime and performance of backend services, promptly addressing any issues.
- Integrate Sent’s platform with carrier networks, third-party services, and internal teams including frontend and DevOps to deliver comprehensive features.
- Enhance system efficiency by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing database queries, and evolving schema designs in response to product scaling.
- Engage in architectural discussions to contribute to building secure and scalable backend systems.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of three years’ experience working with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core, demonstrated through building and shipping production backend services.
- Expertise in designing clean, developer-friendly RESTful APIs, including proper versioning strategies.
- Strong understanding of relational databases with practical experience in schema design, query optimization, and ensuring data integrity.
- A proactive approach to security and reliability, incorporating authentication, authorization, and fault tolerance during development.
- Experience with high-availability systems is a significant plus, particularly in maintaining uptime and stability.
