Key Responsibilities

• Conduct audits from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with EY's Global Audit Methodology and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Lead audit field activities at client locations, coordinating cross-departmentally to ensure seamless delivery.
• Review audit work produced by staff, approving it before final submission to the Engagement Partner.
• Detect and evaluate audit risks while maintaining independence and professional skepticism.
• Implement quality controls and continuously improve audit practices based on feedback from internal and external reviews.
• Establish and nurture strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
• Offer insightful recommendations to enhance client processes and internal controls.
• Organize and direct audit teams, clearly defining their responsibilities.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior team members; participate in performance evaluations.
• Demonstrate competency in IFRS, local GAAP, and additional frameworks such as US GAAP or PCAOB.
• Manage engagement schedules, budgets, and deliverables efficiently.
• Identify process improvements and adopt innovative audit tools and digital solutions.
• Assist partners in business development activities and expanding client networks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• Professional qualifications such as CA Zambia, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent recognized credentials.
• Extensive understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Typically 5 to 7 years of external audit experience within a professional services environment.
• Proven experience managing and executing audits across multiple industries.
• All qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Accounting Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
