Attendant - Housekeeping

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Attendant will promptly respond to guests and departmental requests, maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms and assigned areas. Tasks include preparing supply carts, gaining proper access to rooms, replenishing amenities, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, and managing waste removal. Attention to detail in checking functionality and appearance of room appliances, furniture, and furnishings is essential. Duties also involve vacuuming, floor care, and supporting overall cleanliness standards in guest rooms and hallways.

Job Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to service requests from guests and departments.
• Prepare and transport carts loaded with cleaning supplies to work areas.
• Enter guest rooms following access protocols and confirm vacancy.
• Replenish guest amenities and clean linens.
• Make beds, fold towels, and clean bathrooms thoroughly.
• Remove trash, soiled linens, and used room service items.
• Ensure all room appliances are intact and functioning.
• Neaten desks, furniture, and equipment; perform dusting, polishing, and stain removal.
• Vacuum carpets and conduct floor maintenance duties.
• Comply with company safety, security policies, and training requirements.
• Report hazards, maintenance issues, accidents, and injuries immediately.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Greet guests courteously, anticipate needs, and provide assistance, including for guests with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
• Work cooperatively with team members toward common goals.
• Physically handle objects up to 25 pounds independently, heavier objects with assistance; maneuver loaded carts over various surfaces.
• Perform repetitive physical activities such as standing, bending, twisting, and reaching during shifts.
• Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Preferences

• No formal education requirements (no high school diploma or GED needed).
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience expected.
• No licenses or certifications necessary.
