Role Overview

This entry-level position as a Junior Full Stack Software Engineer, based in Sydney or Melbourne, offers a valuable chance to develop both technical and product expertise while addressing genuine customer challenges. The initial focus is on analyzing and resolving client support tickets and escalated issues, working closely with engineers, QA, and product teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions that improve user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve customer-reported issues by reproducing problems, diagnosing causes, and delivering fixes.
• Engage directly with code, logs, databases, and development tools to diagnose and enhance software reliability and quality.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Karbon’s product and customer usage to inform technical decisions and spot improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, product, and support teams to review solutions, test fixes, and safely deploy updates to customers.
• Maintain a balance between quick issue resolution and thorough analysis to ensure high standards of code quality.
• Utilize AI tools judiciously to aid in problem investigation, code comprehension, solution exploration, and test creation while exercising critical review before deployment.
• Build engineering expertise in system architecture, development workflows, testing, deployment processes, and operational tools.

Candidate Profile

• A foundational grasp of software principles including APIs, debugging techniques, testing methodologies, and data structures.
• Some practical experience developing or maintaining web applications using C#, .NET, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Exposure to SQL Server or similar relational databases, with an interest in understanding data flow within applications.
• A strong problem-solving mindset, with curiosity to explore issues, ask questions, and find underlying causes.
• Comfort with adapting to and learning extensive existing codebases in large applications.
• A responsible attitude with pride in output, openness to feedback, and eagerness to learn collaboratively.
