Job Overview
The Associate Manager - Plant Analysis role within the Finance & Corporate Development division is dedicated to managing budgeting, planning, forecasting, management reporting, monitoring capital and operational expenditures, month-end activities and financial evaluations for the Operations area. This position directly supports the achievement of operational goals, cost control, and cash flow management in line with corporate guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee financial planning and analysis policies, systems, procedures, and controls for the Operations area ensuring compliance with all legislative and procedural requirements.
- Supervise daily financial planning and analysis activities to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Review and validate month-end activities including accruals, operating parameter adjustments, mass balance, production planning processes, and inventory valuation.
- Analyse and rationalize annual operating budgets and plans in relation to past performance and cross-departmental alignment ensuring they meet cost and profitability targets.
- Monitor and control expenditures advising Operations accordingly to achieve budget performance.
- Coordinate with all operational analysts to promote awareness and support of financial plans and business performance at all organizational levels.
- Evaluate financial performance against budgets, identifying variances, unsatisfactory areas, and potential enhancements.
- Manage the review of profitability reports, analyze deviations from budgets and previous years, and investigate significant variances.
- Oversee capital expenditure activities ensuring compliance with procedures and budgets, providing analytical support for business decisions.
- Support business excellence initiatives by assessing evaluations and proposals in alignment with agreed standards.
- Review financial input for commercial evaluations of large or complex proposals to facilitate optimal negotiations and financial assessments.
- Ensure operational and financial data is accurately compiled for management reports covering cash flow, balance sheets, income statements, capital assets, and revenues to aid strategic decisions.
- Review inventory reconciliation reports to ensure accurate stock and asset management.
- Implement and enforce internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and legislation.
- Maintain effective communication with departments, auditors, service providers, and consultants adhering to high ethical standards.
- Manage and provide feedback to subordinates ensuring efficient and target-oriented execution of financial planning and reporting activities.
- Guarantee compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures across the plant.
- Perform additional related assignments and duties as requested.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CMS, CIMA or equivalent.
- 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in financial planning and forecasting within a large manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in managerial roles within the metal and mining sector.
- Experience managing teams and working effectively within diverse, multinational groups.
Skills and Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of aluminum manufacturing industry, including products and business strategy.
- Sound knowledge of statutory financial and internal management standards.
- Familiarity with financial policies, procedures, and industrial best practices.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities.
- Understanding of laws and regulations applicable to the industry.
- Expertise in management reporting and financial analysis.
Additional Information
This position is designated for UAE Nationals. The role requires onsite work in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate a high degree of ethical standards, leadership, and the ability to operate within well-defined policies and procedures. The job involves supervising a team and maintaining cross-departmental coordination to achieve financial objectives and strategic goals.
