Job description
Overview
This role involves working on a variety of electrical maintenance tasks focused on power generation and distribution systems, requiring extensive experience with turbine generator protection systems, switchgear, transformers, and cable protections.
Responsibilities
- Handle protection systems for Gas and Steam Turbine Generators as well as Generator Transformers, including brands like Areva, Siemens, Schneider, ABB, and GE.
- Perform testing and commissioning activities on protection systems related to Power and Distribution Transformers.
- Troubleshoot control circuits within both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgear and protection equipment.
- Manage protection systems for High Voltage motors.
- Work with Gas Insulated Switchgear rated at 132KV and 33KV.
- Ensure maintenance of Power and Distribution Transformers is properly carried out.
- Maintain and service HV and LV switchgear systems.
- Maintain HV cables and their associated differential and feeder protection schemes.
- Operate and maintain Low Impedance Bus Bar Protection systems such as REB500 and REB670, as well as high Impedance Bus Bar Protection systems.
- Use primary and secondary injection test kits competently for verification and diagnostics.
