About the Role

Join EY as an Associate IT Auditor in Gaborone, Botswana, where you will provide independent assessments to help clients understand their risk environment and evaluate the effectiveness of their controls. You will play a critical role in supporting executive-level decisions related to compliance, cost management, and risk program quality. Working as part of a global network, you will deliver assurance and certification services to enhance client compliance and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary client engagement teams.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality services that meet client expectations and deadlines.
  • Manage project progress, risks, and communicate with key stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of relevant business and industry trends affecting clients.
  • Develop and sustain strong professional relationships with clients and EY colleagues.
  • Demonstrate deep technical expertise and quickly assimilate new knowledge.

Specialized Services

You may work within Application Risk & Controls, Information Management and Analysis Services, or Financial Services Technology Risk and IT Regulatory Services, focusing on strengthening internal controls, financial attestations, ISAE 3402 engagements, IT governance, program management, ERP security, and business intelligence analysis.

Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to identify key factors influencing solvency ratios and equity returns.
  • Experience modeling, documenting, and preparing application files.
  • Validating actuarial estimate models.
  • Supporting audits for Solvency II, statutory reporting, Life Technical Provisions, IAS 19, and pension funds.
  • Providing actuarial advice across insurance, investment, corporate finance, risk management, and pensions.
  • Mentoring junior team members to support their development.

Qualifications

  • University degree in accounting, business, IT, engineering, mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant consulting or industry experience, preferably within professional services or multinational corporations.
  • Professional certifications like CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP, or CFE are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation abilities.
  • High integrity, ethical values, and professional work ethic.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
