Job description
About Clear Capital Finance
Clear Capital Finance is a commercial finance brokerage based in London that supports UK businesses in securing the funding they require to trade and expand. Their expertise spans asset-based lending, asset finance, invoice finance, trade finance, property finance, and cash flow lending through a diverse range of national and international lenders. Each client collaborates with a designated specialist who manages the entire deal process, rather than a general service desk. The company operates as part of the New Age Group, which includes a variety of financial services such as FX, payments, and banking, offering a broad commercial perspective.
Role Overview
The position of Associate Funding Specialist is an entry-level opportunity within the commercial finance sector. The primary responsibility is to identify UK businesses with funding needs that may not be aware of alternative solutions beyond traditional banking. This involves prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and introducing Clear Capital Finance's services as viable alternatives. Initial duties focus on outbound outreach, building a sales pipeline, scheduling meetings, and participating in client calls alongside experienced colleagues. As proficiency grows, the role progresses to independently managing the full sales process and maintaining client relationships. Prior commercial finance experience is not mandatory as comprehensive training is provided from the ground up. The role reports directly to a Senior Funding Specialist and requires full-time office presence based in the City of London.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate outbound calls to decision-makers such as owners, finance directors, and finance managers to generate new business.
- Conduct research on target companies by analyzing financial accounts, trading activities, and growth indicators to identify potential funding needs.
- Assess funding opportunities based on type, required amount, timing, current lenders, and costs.
- Arrange and prepare meetings for senior specialists, eventually leading these discussions independently.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of various financing products including asset-based lending, asset finance, invoice finance, trade finance, property finance, and cash flow lending to explain clearly to non-experts.
- Understand lender criteria for evaluating and approving funding applications.
- Maintain precise logs of activities, client communications, and next steps using HubSpot CRM software.
- Meet daily and weekly activity benchmarks along with monthly revenue goals.
- Assist clients through onboarding and funding drawdown processes and maintain relationships for recurring funding needs.
Candidate Profile
- Motivated and ambitious individual aiming to develop a successful career with strong earning potential.
- Proactive self-starter who identifies opportunities independently without supervision.
- Coachability with willingness to absorb feedback and rapidly improve performance.
- Resilient mindset, capable of handling rejection and setbacks effectively.
- Competitive nature enjoys achieving targets and driving business growth.
- Strong dedication and willingness to invest effort to succeed.
- Confident speaker able to engage in meaningful conversations with business owners.
- Inquisitive with a keen interest in understanding business operations.
- Responsible and accountable for personal outcomes.
- Energetic presence in the workplace.
Additional Preferences
- Experience in target-oriented, client-facing roles such as sales, telesales, recruitment, FX, estate agency, retail, or hospitality is advantageous.
- Interest in business, finance, or corporate funding mechanisms.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Educational or practical background in finance, economics, or business.
- Demonstrated commitment in competitive environments, including sports.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranging from £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience and revenue targets.
- Generous, uncapped commission plan rewarding performance with significant earnings potential.
- Additional cross-selling commissions for generating opportunities across the wider New Age Group including FX, banking, crypto, and digital assets.
- Monthly payout of salary and commissions.
- Structured training on commercial finance products, sales techniques, and lender criteria.
- Clear advancement pathway progressing to Funding Specialist and Senior Funding Specialist roles with increasing salary and commission packages.
- Direct mentorship from senior team members and company partners.
- Exposure to operations within the broader New Age Group encompassing FX, payments, and banking.
- Office located in the City of London with company pension, paid gym membership, team social events, and performance-based rewards.
Work Location and Eligibility
Applicants must hold valid UK work authorization and be able to attend the City of London office five days per week.
