Associate Director – M&E Cost Management Team

We are seeking an Associate Director to join our Mission Critical Team within Construction Advisory based in Dublin, working under a hybrid model. This permanent position involves leading and representing KPMG's Construction Advisory practice at senior industry levels, managing project operations alongside Directors and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying for mechanical and electrical components across projects from inception through to completion.
• Collaborate with Directors to manage multiple projects within main client frameworks.
• Maintain high-performance standards by effective communication and utilizing performance management systems.
• Build and nurture strong client relationships, reinforcing the firm’s reputation for exceptional construction advisory services.
• Mentor and support junior team members to ensure efficient delivery of cost management services.
• Prepare feasibility estimates focused on M&E systems.
• Advise on procurement strategies emphasizing M&E packages.
• Ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Conduct cost planning and cash-flow forecasts related to M&E work.
• Manage value and risk, including technical risks associated with M&E systems.
• Handle post-contract management of M&E cost aspects.
• Generate fees and contribute to business development.
• Identify improvements to task accuracy and efficiency while supporting senior staff with project optimization.
• Engage actively with clients and manage ongoing relationships.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or a related field (BSc or MSc).
• Professional qualifications such as Chartered Quantity Surveyor status accredited by RICS, CIOB, or equivalent body preferred.
• Strong grasp of various project types, sizes, and sectors within the Mission Critical domain.
• Knowledgeable in RIAI and FIDIC standardized contract forms.
• Experience preparing bid submissions.
• Prior experience in managing or mentoring personnel.
• Demonstrated capability to advise clients and design teams on procurement, cost analysis, value management, and risk, especially in M&E Cost Management beyond isolated cost considerations.
• Excellent numerical, verbal, and written communication proficiency.
