We are seeking an experienced Associate Director or Director in Software Technology to join our R&D Incentives Practice in Dublin under a hybrid working model. This permanent contract role requires strong software engineering expertise, leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for complex technology development to assist clients with scientific and technical aspects of R&D tax credit claims and grant applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects for both multinational and local clients.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and technology leaders to interpret R&D incentive qualifications for their complex development tasks.
• Evaluate software and technology projects against R&D tax incentive benchmarks.
• Create and review detailed technical documentation supporting client R&D claims.
• Manage and nurture client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Mentor and coach technical consultants within the team.
• Oversee and coordinate multiple technical consultants to deliver client-aligned R&D incentive solutions.
• Work closely with senior technical experts to continuously improve service offerings.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
• Participate in business development, including proposal creation and client presentations.
• Contribute to the enhancement and growth of software technology capabilities within the practice.
• Identify opportunities to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Candidate Profile

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 10 years’ experience in software engineering, architecture, or technical leadership.
• Extensive hands-on involvement in designing or managing complex software systems.
• Technical expertise in areas including cloud computing, distributed systems, AI/ML, enterprise software, cybersecurity, telecommunications, data platforms, or embedded systems.
• Quick aptitude for understanding new technologies and complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders and present effectively to groups.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Capability in project and stakeholder management.
• Analytical skills to determine optimal approaches in complex situations.
• Proficient at multitasking and handling competing demands under strict deadlines.
• Client-focused with excellent influencing and relationship-building abilities.
• No prior experience in tax or professional services is required; emphasis is on technical depth, communication, and leadership talents.
