Associate Director, Internal Audit

Overview

A prestigious educational institution is looking for a seasoned internal audit leader to enhance their risk management, internal control systems, and overall organisational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the risk-based internal audit plan, ensuring compliance with professional auditing standards.
• Supervise and mentor a team of auditors, coordinate with external audit partners, and manage budget and audit resources effectively.
• Analyze audit outcomes, assess major risks and control mechanisms, and communicate actionable insights to senior stakeholders and audit committees.
• Promote ongoing advancement by refining audit techniques and integrating data analytics, automation, and AI tools to bolster audit quality.
• Collaborate closely with various departments to enhance governance structures, risk oversight, and internal control frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Business, or a related field coupled with professional certifications such as CIA, CA, CISA, or CRMA is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years’ internal audit experience, including 8 to 10 years occupying leadership roles.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise risk management, internal control standards, COSO Framework, and audit methodologies, with familiarity in IT auditing.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, stakeholder engagement skills, excellent communication, and capability to influence senior decision-makers to implement significant improvements.

Additional Information

This position reports directly to the Director of Internal Audit and offers a monthly salary of up to $14,000. The role is based in Singapore and requires full-time onsite presence in the education sector.
