Role Overview

The Associate Dentist will deliver quality general dental care to patients across all age groups. This involves conducting examinations, diagnosing, planning treatments, and performing restorative, preventative, and basic cosmetic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine dental check-ups, fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, periodontal care, and emergency pain relief with a patient-centered, gentle approach.
• Communicate clearly about treatment options and ensure patients understand the planned care.
• Maintain precise clinical records and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
• Collaborate closely with dental assistants and reception staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Educate patients on oral health and may engage in initiatives to grow the practice and community outreach.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Current registration or eligibility with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a dentist.
• Proficient clinical skills across general dentistry including examinations, restorations, extractions, endodontics, and preventative care.
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills to establish trust and clearly explain treatment plans.
• Adherence to high standards of infection control, clinical safety, and dental regulations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary dental team and foster a supportive, inclusive work environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle appointment scheduling and maintain timely clinical documentation.
• Experience using dental practice management software and digital record-keeping is a plus.
• Interest or experience in cosmetic and family dentistry is advantageous.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and stay updated on advances in dental techniques and materials.
• Previous private practice experience is preferred though not essential.
