Associate / Associate Director – Building Technology Systems

Job Overview

WSP Middle East is looking to recruit an Associate or Associate Director to join their expanding Building Technology Systems (BTS) team within the Property & Buildings division in the UAE. This role involves supporting the execution of smart building solutions, ICT design, ELV systems, and innovative AV technology across a variety of significant projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design of ICT and Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including structured cabling, data networks, Wi-Fi, security systems such as CCTV and access control, Building Management System (BMS) integration, IPTV, and telecommunications.
• Prepare detailed design documentation including drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and bills of quantities (BOQs).
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure full system integration and coordination.
• Design and evaluate Creative Audio-Visual (AV) systems encompassing digital signage, video walls, control rooms, and meeting room AV setups.
• Provide technical leadership in AV layout, acoustics, equipment selection, signal flow, and overall system performance.
• Work jointly with architects, interior designers, and client experience teams to create innovative and user-focused AV solutions.
• Support the development of smart building design frameworks in the ICT and BTS scope integrating IoT devices, automation, and digital platforms to ensure coordinated system design.
• Ensure all systems comply with international standards and facilitate interoperability across technologies.
• Assist in project planning, provide regular reports, and prepare presentations for clients.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities during design and construction phases.
• Perform site inspections, review technical submittals, and assist with testing and commissioning activities.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related disciplines.
• At least 12 years of experience designing Building Technology, ICT, ELV, and AV systems.
• Proven expertise delivering Creative AV systems for building or mixed-use developments.
• Strong familiarity with international standards including TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEC, ISO, and AVIXA.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination capabilities.
• Previous consultancy experience in the Middle East is considered a plus.
