Job Purpose
The Assistant Vice President will support the SVP/VP in instigating cultural transformation centered on Lean methodologies across QNB Group. The role involves leading the Lean and Six Sigma initiatives within the Innovation department and managing a selection of Lean projects internationally, often with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute operational excellence, process reengineering, and holistic process enhancement projects aligned with the group’s goals, ensuring application of Lean, Six Sigma, and change management best practices.
- Develop and help deploy Lean and Six Sigma standards, including the creation and monitoring of KPIs for quality and performance related to operational excellence programs.
- Promote cost efficiency and productivity improvements across operations, minimizing waste and maximizing benefits.
- Provide training and coaching on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to designated personnel, and foster awareness of client orientation and process excellence throughout the bank.
- Collaborate with business and support units to introduce process improvements and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships.
- Obtain new project mandates from senior leadership, manage multiple Lean Six Sigma projects through DMAIC phases, and ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and expected outcomes.
- Conduct data analysis, identify improvement opportunities, and apply statistical tools and process control techniques.
- Offer guidance on change management and continuous improvement strategies to teams, and help refine Lean Six Sigma tools within the organization.
- Identify personal and team development needs, ensuring the provision of training and career advancement opportunities.
- Comply with all regulatory, legal, and internal policies, including anti-money laundering, data protection, fraud control, whistleblowing, conflicts of interest, and insider dealing protocols.
- Adhere to the bank’s risk management framework, including conduct risk and operational risk reporting requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and uphold QNB's reputation by adhering to professional standards.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field from a recognized institution.
- At least 10 years of experience in organizational and process reengineering, business consulting, or project management, preferably within financial services, with cross-functional expertise.
- Proven operational and project management abilities, leading large-scale initiatives and change management efforts.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with a minimum of 5 years of technical leadership in Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies with tangible results, including coaching at least five Lean Six Sigma projects from start to finish.
- Minimum two years’ experience as a lead trainer for Black Belt and Green Belt certifications.
- Strong leadership qualities and demonstrated career progression.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services operations and support functions.
