About The Role
We are looking for a passionate Assistant Store Manager to join The Athlete’s Foot team in Tauranga. This role involves taking a leadership position within a dynamic environment focused on delivering excellent service and working with renowned footwear brands such as Nike, Adidas, Brooks, Hoka, Asics, New Balance, and ON Running. Partnering with the Store Manager, you will help foster a supportive and community-oriented workplace.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership by providing outstanding customer service using advanced MyFit 3D technology.
- Encourage and energize the team to continually surpass sales goals and KPIs.
- Track team performance and seek ways to promote growth and enhancements.
- Work alongside the Store Manager to manage staff scheduling and adhere to wage budgets according to company policies.
- Maintain high standards in daily store operation, including store presentation, visual merchandising, and inventory management.
- Lead team training efforts, support professional development, and plan for succession to build a capable and motivated workforce.
- Engage with the community through partnerships with sports groups and healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations relevant to national and state laws.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in roles such as Assistant Store Manager, senior casual Sales Assistant, Key Holder, Supervisor, or third-in-charge within a retail setting that is fast-paced.
- A proactive, results-oriented attitude focused on getting things done.
- Effective leadership capabilities aimed at motivating teams.
- Track record of achieving sales and KPI targets.
- Good knowledge of stock control and best practices in visual merchandising.
