Role Overview

As Assistant Store Manager for Merchandising, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service while managing merchandising, sales, and customer engagement in departments such as Lawn and Garden, Electrical, Plumbing, Hardware, Tools, and Pro products. You will facilitate the coordination of services including installation and customization, develop your team, and ensure excellent customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Oversee inventory, merchandising, sales, and customer service within multiple hardware and home improvement product categories
  • Coordinate and ensure the execution of sales involving installation, personalization, or professional services
  • Encourage and manage the generation and pursuit of qualified sales leads by team members
  • Conduct interviews and participate in selecting and developing team members supporting assigned product areas
  • Identify obstacles to superior service and communicate barriers and solutions promptly
  • Build and maintain professional business relationships internally and externally
  • Perform related duties to ensure the smooth operation of the store

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' leadership experience managing retail associates
  • At least 1 year experience handling manager-on-duty duties
  • Familiarity with interior and exterior product categories, including lawn and garden, carpentry, building materials, and plumbing
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
