Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated, supportive, and people-oriented Assistant Store Manager to join our Gawler team. This leadership position focuses on developing others, energizing the team, and delivering excellent customer service while embracing challenges confidently.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example alongside the Store Manager to foster a positive, high-performing, and inclusive team culture where members feel motivated and empowered.
- Assist in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members by providing clear guidance and meaningful feedback to ensure outstanding customer experiences.
- Create and maintain an energized, welcoming, and customer-first atmosphere within the store for both employees and customers.
- Support daily operational activities from team coordination to service delivery, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage escalated customer concerns professionally, demonstrating calmness and effective de-escalation techniques while guiding team members.
- Promote team engagement by celebrating achievements, supporting goal setting, encouraging ongoing learning, and fostering collaboration.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrate supportive leadership by empowering others through integrity, encouragement, and actions that help team members perform at their best.
- Exhibit customer-first coaching skills, leading by example to ensure memorable customer interactions.
- Maintain composure under pressure, managing reactive or complex situations effectively and modeling de-escalation behaviours.
- Possess strong operational and business awareness, understanding retail functions that drive performance while balancing leadership duties with operational needs.
- Contribute to building an adaptable and inclusive team culture, remaining flexible and solution-oriented in shifting priorities or changing customer needs.
