Job description
Position Overview
The Assistant Store Manager acts as the second-in-command to the Store Manager, supporting daily operations and stepping in during the Store Manager's absence. This role holds responsibility for driving sales performance, maintaining profitability, improving customer satisfaction, upholding merchandising standards, managing store operations, and overseeing training and development throughout the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Exceeding profitability targets and key performance indicators by motivating and driving the sales team.
- Planning and setting store sales goals on an annual, monthly, daily basis, including individual and department objectives.
- Ensuring exceptional customer service at all times by consistently delivering a friendly shopping atmosphere, including greeting customers upon entry.
- Analyzing sales data across departments and product categories to enhance average transaction value, conversion rates, and total sales.
- Identifying team strengths and training needs, guaranteeing compliance with company training standards and fostering continual coaching and development.
- Recruiting, hiring, and retaining talented management and store associates to support staffing requirements and succession plans.
- Upholding visual merchandising standards, promotional guidelines, and maintaining cleanliness and organization on the sales floor and stockroom.
- Meeting or surpassing targets related to sales, payroll management, and shrink reduction.
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize sales performance and control expenses.
- Maintaining high communication levels with all team members and conducting regular performance appraisals.
Additional Duties
- Participating in store meetings and other related company functions.
- Overseeing housekeeping and maintenance tasks as necessary.
- Being flexible to travel and work at different store locations when required.
- Adhering to company policies and maintaining established standards.
- Completing additional tasks assigned by management as needed.
- Committing to work extra hours as demanded by job responsibilities.
- Properly using and caring for equipment and materials within the scope of the role.
