Job description
Role Overview
The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a key role in fostering a collaborative team environment to deliver exceptional service and meet guest expectations. This position involves overseeing staff grooming standards, performing opening and closing duties to prepare and secure the facility, and managing inventory and storage hygiene using best practices such as FIFO.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure teamwork and high service standards among associates.
- Inspect staff appearance and enforce uniform policies.
- Conduct opening and closing routines including setup, cleaning, and securing premises.
- Monitor storage areas for cleanliness and proper inventory rotation.
- Manage inventory checks and supply requisitions.
- Oversee seating availability, guest safety, and overall dining room conditions.
- Coordinate maintenance requests to resolve facility issues promptly.
- Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff.
- Act as an exemplar in upholding company policies including the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door process.
- Adhere strictly to safety and security policies; report hazards and incidents appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard company assets.
- Engage guests warmly following company standards and respond proactively to their needs, including assistance to guests with disabilities.
- Communicate professionally and foster positive internal relationships.
- Promote organizational efficiency and cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, navigating confined or elevated areas, and maintaining physical activity throughout shifts.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant professional experience.
- At least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
