Job description
Role Overview
As an Assistant Merchandiser at Primark, you will steer product positioning by ensuring the ideal items are available at the right locations and times. This position involves owning particular product categories, working closely with the Merchandising and Buying leadership to create trend-led collections that captivate customers across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in achieving sales, stock turnover, and profit targets set by the merchandising team.
- Support strategic planning of product ranges that balance variety, price points, color, and seasonality, taking regional customer preferences into account.
- Utilize forecasting tools and reports such as WSSIs and line projections, regularly collaborating with Buying teams to optimize sales and inventory levels.
- Develop expert knowledge of Primark’s product portfolio, including competitor benchmarking and historical product performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years of experience in a merchandising role at a level similar to Assistant Merchandiser.
- Relevant academic background in fashion, analytics, commerce, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills capable of building and maintaining cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- A strategic outlook combined with analytical numerical skills to pinpoint commercial opportunities.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in managing multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment.
