About the Role
The Palm Beach Hotel, a lively and busy coastal venue on the southern Gold Coast, is seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager. This position requires overseeing day-to-day floor operations in a fast-moving environment that includes managing crowds for events, coordinating family diners in the bistro, and supervising premium gaming and retail services. The ideal candidate will have sharp operational skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding hospitality consistently.
Daily Responsibilities
- Build strong rapport with local patrons, becoming an integral part of their experience.
- Work alongside the Publican to ensure smooth and safe operations while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Develop management skills by learning the Publican role and leading a dedicated hospitality team.
- Efficiently resolve issues before they escalate.
- Maintain high energy levels and excellent customer service on every shift.
Requirements
- This role is physically demanding, involving manual handling such as moving stock, kegs, and deliveries. Candidates must be capable of safely performing these tasks.
- Applicants should have experience in bars, bistros, or gaming environments, including some supervisory background.
- Proven leadership qualities and confidence to represent the venue in the Publican’s absence.
- Compliance with state regulations by holding a current RSA/RSG certification, RMLV, and Approved Managers Licence.
