About the Role

The Oxenford Tavern on the Gold Coast is seeking a motivated Assistant Manager with hands-on hospitality experience to oversee daily floor operations in this vibrant local venue. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a busy environment—from family dining rushes in the bistro, live sports crowds in the bar, to managing the gaming room—ensuring top-quality service standards are met consistently for loyal customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong rapport with local patrons to become an integral part of the community atmosphere.
• Assist the Publican with smooth, safe, and engaging venue operations.
• Gain knowledge of Publican responsibilities while leading and motivating a team of hospitality professionals.
• Proactively address operational issues to prevent escalation.
• Maintain a positive, energetic presence delivering excellent customer service every shift.

Position Requirements

• This role involves manual labor, including moving stock, kegs, and deliveries; candidates must be capable of safely performing physical tasks.
• Previous experience within bar, bistro, or gaming room environments, ideally with some supervisory background.
• Aspire to progress into management with demonstrated confidence, pride, and strong interpersonal skills representing the venue in the Publican’s absence.
• Hold current hospitality licenses as mandated by state regulations: RSA/RSG, RMLV, and Approved Managers Licence.
