About The Role
We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join the team at Norwood Hotel, a cherished landmark located just 10 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD. This heritage-listed venue boasts over 100 years of history and features a combination of modern Australian dining, live music, and the traditional Finn MacCool's Irish Pub. The hotel attracts a diverse clientele, from bustling game day crowds to families enjoying casual dining.
As Assistant Manager, you will be integral in maintaining the venue's warm and lively atmosphere while supporting the Publican in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage closely with the local patrons to build strong relationships and become a familiar face in the community.
- Assist the Publican in ensuring smooth, safe, and enjoyable operation of the venue.
- Lead and motivate a dedicated hospitality team, gaining hands-on experience in pub management.
- Address problems promptly to avoid escalation and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a positive energy, deliver exceptional service, and uphold a friendly environment every shift.
Inherent Requirements
- This role involves physical activities, including manual handling such as moving stock, kegs, and deliveries. Candidates must be capable of performing these safely and efficiently.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in bar, bistro, or gaming room roles, preferably with some supervisory exposure.
- Desire to progress into management, supported by experience working under effective leaders.
- Strong confidence, interpersonal skills, and the ability to represent the pub when the Publican is unavailable.
- Possession of current RSA, RSG, and RP Badge as mandated by state regulations.
