Position Overview

The Assistant Manager - Hydrographic Survey conducts hydrographic and topographic surveys to support dredging activities. The role involves utilizing various specialized instruments to develop precise bathymetric maps while maintaining stringent standards of data quality and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out hydrographic surveys, considering environmental impacts to ensure accuracy and aligning with project objectives and resources.
• Capture and process advanced survey data, monitoring sediment levels and identifying hazards to facilitate safe dredging operations.
• Generate detailed underwater mapping and 3D models using software tools such as Hypack and AutoCAD to create informative charts.
• Analyze tidal information to maintain consistent depth measurements and adjust dredging operations accordingly.
• Maintain and calibrate all survey equipment, scheduling regular maintenance and keeping up-to-date with technological advances.
• Manage survey data systematically, ensuring proper storage, backups, and standardization for usability.
• Implement rigorous quality control procedures, including equipment calibration and data validation to guarantee reliability.
• Produce comprehensive reports that ensure the accuracy and accessibility of survey data for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with survey leadership on budget oversight, managing costs and optimizing resource utilization.
• Continuously assess and enhance survey methods by adopting new technologies and improved processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Survey, Naval Survey Recorder qualification, or Diploma/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a combined Hydrographic and Topographic Surveyor.
