About The Role

The Esplanade Hotel, a beloved local venue located on the Brighton foreshore, is searching for an Assistant Manager to maintain its welcoming atmosphere and popularity among community members. This role offers a base salary starting at $80,000, plus superannuation, bonus opportunities, and access to group-wide discounts.

The venue is known for its relaxed ambiance, delicious food, and waterside dining, smoothly transitioning from casual beachside drinks to evening dinners. As a member of the team, you'll contribute to delivering the cherished 'Simply Brighton' experience valued by our regular guests.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop strong connections with regular guests, becoming a familiar and trusted presence.
• Assist the Publican in ensuring the establishment operates efficiently, securely, and with a vibrant atmosphere.
• Gain comprehensive knowledge of Publican responsibilities while managing a team of hospitality professionals.
• Proactively address and resolve operational issues to prevent escalation.
• Consistently deliver energetic service and positive guest interactions during each shift.

Inherent Requirements

• This position necessitates physical tasks such as manual handling and lifting, including stock, kegs, and deliveries. Candidates must be capable of performing these duties safely and effectively.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in bar, bistro, or gaming environments, preferably including supervisory roles.
• Exposure to effective management practices and readiness to assume higher responsibility.
• Confidence, pride, and strong interpersonal skills to represent the venue in the absence of the Publican.
• Current certifications required by state regulations including RSA, RSG, and RP Badge.
