Job description
Position Overview
Rangitoto College seeks a committed and collaborative educator to assume the role of Assistant International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator. This is a full-time, permanent role within the secondary school division for years 9 to 13, situated in Auckland, New Zealand. This middle leadership position requires the incumbent to support and expand the delivery of the IB Diploma Programme across the institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with student admissions processes related to the IB Diploma Programme.
- Support curriculum design and development in various departments to align with IB standards.
- Collaborate with CORE programme coordinators to ensure cohesive implementation.
- Provide targeted professional development opportunities to strengthen staff expertise in IB methodologies.
- Work in close partnership with the IB Coordinator to embed and promote the IB framework effectively.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of evidence-based classroom practices within the IB context, excellent organisational capabilities, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff, and families while promoting a culture of whanaungatanga is essential. Previous experience with the IB Diploma Programme—as a coordinator, examiner, or teacher—is preferred.
Requirements
- Must be a New Zealand Registered Teacher or eligible for registration.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of IB Diploma Programme administration, compliance, and pedagogy.
- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and time-management abilities.
Additional Information
