Job description
About Comply Pro
Comply Pro is among New Zealand's rapidly expanding SaaS firms, delivering powerful applications such as Safe Food Pro and Site App Pro, which serve over 4,000 businesses and more than 50,000 users worldwide. Our Auckland-based team fosters a flat organizational structure that encourages transparency, entrepreneurial thinking, and personal ownership of business challenges. We prioritize customer-focused problem-solving to establish Comply Pro as a leading SaaS enterprise in New Zealand.
Our culture is founded on trust, empowerment, inclusivity, and a balanced work-life approach. Team members are entitled to five weeks of annual leave to nurture their lives outside work. Leveraging cutting-edge technology, whether working remotely, onsite, or in transit, is integral to our success.
Role Description
The Assistant Accountant role is a full-time position located primarily in our Auckland office, reporting to the Finance Manager. This position manages the daily financial operations, including comprehensive accounts receivable and payable management, subscription billing, collections, payroll assistance, and monthly account reconciliations. Responsibilities also include preparing accurate financial documents, supporting balance-sheet reconciliations, and maintaining internal financial controls for our multi-entity SaaS business.
The role also involves supporting our hardware division with tasks like order fulfillment, reconciliation, and inventory management. You will collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve billing and account issues and help identify opportunities to enhance and automate financial workflows. This is a genuine growth role offering substantial ownership and skill development as the company grows.
Qualifications and Experience
- Three to five years of broad finance or assistant accountant experience with a history of independently addressing challenges.
- Valuable experience in SaaS or subscription-based billing environments, especially handling recurring payments, renewals, and revenue reconciliation.
- Hands-on competence in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank/payment platform reconciliations.
- Experience in payroll processing and proficiency with Xero or comparable accounting software.
- Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets combined with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, able to engage confidently with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive and ownership-driven mindset, comfortable working within a streamlined finance team rather than a large hierarchy.
- Professional accounting qualifications like CA/CPA or progress toward such credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
What We Offer
- This hybrid position is primarily office-based in Auckland, typically allowing for one remote working day per week to balance collaboration and autonomy.
- Competitive compensation including salary plus commission, with access to the company's Employee Share Opportunity Program.
- Flexible work arrangements that prioritize output and impact.
- Generous benefits including five weeks’ annual leave alongside paid parental and maternity leave.
- Opportunities for personal growth through mentoring, training, and advancement as the business expands.
