About the Role

Talbot Hotel Clonmel, part of the Talbot Collection, is seeking a skilled Assistant Accommodation Manager. The Talbot Collection has been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality for 2025 by Great Place to Work. This role involves collaborating closely with the Accommodation Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Accommodation Department and assisting with administrative tasks. The Assistant Accommodation Manager acts as a key ambassador for the hotel, demonstrating respect, politeness, friendliness, and unwavering helpfulness towards guests and colleagues alike.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage seamless operation of the Accommodation Department following company SOPs, budgetary guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure housekeeping staff comply with hotel policies regarding uniform, personal hygiene, and health and safety standards.

  • Distribute keys, room lists, assistant checklists, and cleaning schedules at shift start; collect and verify these at shift end.
  • Monitor work of Room Assistants, Linen Porters, and Maintenance staff to maintain high standards throughout the day.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and recreational facilities to ensure cleanliness and appearance meet hotel standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance issues in bedrooms, laundry, and public spaces are resolved before rooms are released to Front Desk.
  • In absence of the Accommodation Manager, prepare and input the weekly staff roster in Timepoint prior to deadline, adjusting for hotel activity.
  • Support attendance control and payroll accuracy by updating staff attendance in Timepoint.
  • Manage ordering of supplies and maintain stock levels of stationery, linen, and amenities when Accommodation Manager is unavailable to guarantee consistency.
  • Assist in identifying recruitment needs in the department and proactively address labor shortages.
