Asset Protection Representative

About the Role

Join Loblaw Companies Limited as a full-time Asset Protection Representative at the Real Canadian Superstore located at 760 Eagleson Rd, Ottawa. This key role involves ensuring safety and security within a busy retail environment by preventing theft and fraud while protecting assets, employees, and customers. The position requires flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends with a 40-hour work week.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence in the store to deter theft, fraud, and policy breaches actively.
• Safely and lawfully apprehend individuals involved in theft or violations, adhering strictly to company and legal protocols.
• Conduct thorough internal and external investigations, gather pertinent evidence, and liaise with law enforcement as needed.
• Collaborate with store leadership to analyze shrinkage trends and develop strategies to minimize losses.
• Ensure that operations comply with corporate standards, security procedures, and provincial regulations.
• Adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with agility and responsiveness to evolving challenges.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid Provincial Security Guard License with knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation.
• Proficiency in using CCTV surveillance systems and Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication abilities demonstrated through an approachable, confident, and respectful demeanor.
• High integrity and initiative, exemplifying trustworthiness, accountability, and proactive problem-solving capabilities.
• Prior experience in grocery, pharmacy, or high-volume retail environments is advantageous.
• Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
