Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Artificial Intelligence Engineer to become a key member of the IT department at a client organization located in Dubai. The right candidate will offer approximately five years of professional experience in software engineering, having evolved from general software development to specialized AI-centric roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and launch AI applications through all stages from initial prototype to full production deployment.
• Create AI-oriented workflows leveraging foundational models, large language model APIs, prompting techniques, tool invocation, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Embed AI functionalities into existing products and backend systems.
• Steer AI coding agents while retaining accountability for system design, ensuring security, code excellence, and ease of maintenance.
• Establish robust systems for evaluation, testing, and monitoring focusing on quality, safety, performance latency, and cost efficiency.
• Assess new AI technologies and recommend whether to build internally or acquire externally.
• Collaborate closely with IT and business teams on projects spanning technical and organizational scopes.
• Communicate complex technical and AI-related concepts with clarity to audiences of varying technical expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

• Approximately five years in software engineering, development, or similar technical roles.
• Solid hands-on development experience progressing into AI, machine learning, or generative AI fields.
• Proven track record of designing and deploying AI or ML solutions in live production settings.
• Practical experience working with large language model APIs and generative AI methods such as prompting, tool calling, and RAG.
• Strong grounding in machine learning principles, software design, security practices, and writing maintainable code.
• Capability to interpret business needs and craft effective technical solutions.
• Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Preparedness to undertake a technical test during the recruitment process.
