Argos Shift Manager

Role Overview

As an Argos Shift Manager, you will oversee shift operations in our Argos stores, energizing and guiding teams while offering on-the-job assistance. Your responsibilities include coaching colleagues to consistently deliver outstanding customer service and working alongside the team on the shop floor. In the absence of the Store Manager, you may lead the entire store's operations, managing resources for day-to-day functions such as warehouse organization, receiving deliveries, and customer service. You will be expected to possess expert knowledge of our products and services and focus on boosting sales and store profitability.

Key Responsibilities and Attributes

• Managing and planning for efficient operation within a high-paced retail environment.
• Directing team members daily, providing coaching and immediate guidance to ensure excellent experiences for customers and colleagues.
• Supporting the Store Manager with store safety and compliance requirements.
• Maintaining strong commercial insight, leveraging product knowledge to understand customer needs and stimulate sales.
• Working toward and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance store profitability.
• Possessing a growth mindset and commitment to personal development while fostering growth in others.

Essential Criteria

• Proven ability to deliver superior customer service and mentor colleagues to do the same.
• Experience in motivating teams, driving sales and performance, and managing smooth operations.
• A commitment to going the extra mile to make shopping convenient, quick, and friendly for every customer.
• Operational leadership experience, including responsibility for running operations during management's absence.
• Demonstrated achievement in meeting or surpassing KPIs such as sales, product availability, customer satisfaction, and colleague engagement.
• Being a consistent role model by embodying service excellence and company values daily.
