Architectural Associate

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Associate to join our team in Singapore. This role demands active client engagement from the initial project brief to successful completion, as well as collaboration with various professionals to deliver quality architectural projects. The successful candidate will be involved in the entire design and construction process, from conceptual proposals to defect inspections.

Key Responsibilities

• Consulting with clients and stakeholders early to establish and refine project briefs.
• Developing and evolving project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Submitting planning and regulatory applications as required.
• Creating design proposals utilizing both CAD software and traditional drafting techniques.
• Supporting detailed design development and coordinating all design-related information.
• Preparing and updating tender documentation and detailed construction drawings.
• Liaising with authorities such as planning and technical officers to secure statutory approvals.
• Conducting site visits, recording discussions and minutes.
• Supporting the project architect with site-related issues and coordination.
• Producing detailed material specifications for construction suitability and compliance.
• Evaluating how design aspects affect project functionality and addressing practical construction concerns early on.
• Coordinating with various consultants throughout the project.
• Advising clients on suitable contracts to procure for their projects.
• Leading tender documentation preparation and administration.
• Assisting with contract administration and project certifications.
• Collecting client feedback on project progress and outcomes.
• Monitoring site progress to ensure adherence to timelines.
• Resolving issues encountered during construction phases.
• Performing defect inspections post-construction.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional architectural experience in Singapore or Malaysia.
• Ability to thrive within fast-paced teams and environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations applicable to Singapore or Malaysia.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant capabilities.
• Positive work ethic; proactive, conscientious, and team-oriented.
