Role Overview

A Mumbai-based interior design firm focused on healthcare, residential, and hospitality sectors is seeking two architects. Each will report to the Senior Architect for their team and manage daily operations on two ongoing projects, spanning from initial design phases through active construction. Active design involvement is expected throughout, not just post-drafting stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities for two projects at various development stages
• Maintain coordination between consultants and contractors, clients on routine issues, and escalate matters appropriately to Senior, Lead, and Principal architects
• Collaborate with MEP, structural, and other consultants on live projects; engage design team during early project phases
• Contribute creative design ideas and collaborate with Senior and Lead architects in development
• Develop drawings, detailed plans, models, and presentation materials aligned with studio standards
• Deliver presentations and communicate concepts effectively within the team
• Mentor interns and junior architects (1–2 years experience) on routine assignments
• Join Senior architect onsite, gradually managing routine queries independently
• Proactively identify and report critical issues early to Senior and Principal architects
• Expand project management responsibilities beyond two projects as experience grows

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3 to 5 years of architecture experience
• Experience in a medium-sized firm (20–30+ people) with direct exposure to Principal or Lead architects and comprehensive project involvement, not limited to isolated tasks
• Experience coordinating with consultants and contractors on active projects
• Demonstrable personal design contributions on completed projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp; Photoshop and InDesign; and MS Office or Google Workspace
• Fluent English with strong communication skills
• Resident of Mumbai or fully settled within Maharashtra

Desirable Skills

• Experience in hospitality, healthcare, institutional, or residential tower projects
• Experience mentoring interns or junior architects
• Basic knowledge of AI tools such as ChatGPT or Gemini

Unsuitable Profiles

• Background in large firms limited to a single task area without full project lifecycle exposure or direct contact with Principal or Lead
• Over-reliance on Senior or Lead architects for routine decision-making
• Strong technical execution skills but lacking design contribution
• Poor communication impairing coordination with consultants, site teams, and colleagues
• Passive approach to project management, waiting for instructions rather than proactive problem solving
• Resistance to unconventional solutions or challenging norms
• Poor temperament or elevated tone under pressure at workplace or site
• Relocating from outside Maharashtra without strong commitment to living in Mumbai
• Seeking a relaxed or low-pressure work environment

Compensation and Work Details

Salary ranges from ₹500000 to ₹800000 per annum (CTC). The role requires onsite presence at the Mumbai office, Monday to Friday, from 10 AM to 7 PM.
