About Us
10 Design is a global architectural practice with studios located in Asia, America, and Europe. Our London studio is expanding to accommodate a growing portfolio of international and UK projects. As part of the 10N Collective, which spans 20 studios across five continents, we enjoy opportunities for collaboration with international teams and contribute to projects worldwide.
Role Overview
We seek talented and innovative Architects to engage in the design and execution of projects varying in scale, sector, and location. Successful candidates will be accountable for specific roles or packages, participating throughout all project phases from initial concept through technical delivery and construction. Responsibility will increase with experience, confidence, and project demands. Newly qualified Architects will receive mentorship and support, with potential to assume greater duties and stand in for Senior Architects as they gain proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams throughout all project stages.
- Manage defined design packages, delivering coordinated outputs in line with schedule.
- Develop and advance creative design concepts from feasibility to detailed design phases.
- Integrate design vision with technical, construction, cost, and scheduling considerations.
- Produce drawings, models, diagrams, reports, and presentations for client approval.
- Coordinate architectural designs with structural, MEP, and specialist consultants.
- Participate in client, consultant, and contractor meetings, fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
- Support project briefs, change management, and statutory approvals.
- Review consultant and contractor deliverables and assist in design coordination.
- Adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and organizational procedures.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and information management.
- Contribute to planning applications, technical submissions, tender documentation, and construction phase activities.
- Review contractor submissions, undertake site visits, support inspections and snagging tasks as appropriate.
- Identify and report project risks, issues, and potential scope changes.
- Mentor junior team members and nurture a collaborative studio environment.
- Engage in mentoring, training, and continuous professional development.
- Take ownership of personal professional growth.
- Implement 10 Design's CAD, BIM, information management, and drawing standards.
- Support risk management, quality audits, and compliance processes.
- Observe health, safety, CDM, and Building Safety standards.
- Accurately record timesheets and expenses.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- UK ARB registration with RIBA Part 3 qualification or an internationally recognized equivalent.
- Experience contributing to the design and execution of architectural projects across project phases.
- Understanding of project stages, construction methods, materials, standards, and specifications.
- Knowledge of UK construction legislation and practices or equivalent Middle East knowledge.
- Advanced understanding of at least one area: early design, detailed design, or construction documentation and site delivery.
- Experience with UK and/or international projects preferred; Middle East project exposure is advantageous.
- For complex projects or senior appointments, prior experience leading teams or substantial project packages may be desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Intermediate skills in Adobe InDesign.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and visualization tools such as Enscape.
- Basic competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to review and amend CAD and BIM work produced by others.
- Desirable skills include Grasshopper, Adobe Illustrator, and BIM workflow/model coordination platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication with report writing capabilities.
- Ability to communicate design through sketches, diagrams, and illustrations.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Sound judgment, including awareness of personal limits and soliciting advice as necessary.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines.
- A robust design portfolio showcasing creativity, technical insight, and graphical communication skills.
