Job description
Overview
This role involves maintaining and repairing various aspects of apartment and condominium complexes in residential settings. The worker will operate onsite at multiple locations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the buildings and surrounding areas.
Primary Duties
- Clean and maintain hallways, floors, staircases by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing.
- Use industrial vacuum cleaners to clear debris and waste effectively.
- Empty and manage trash and other refuse containers.
- Wash interior windows, walls, and ceilings.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, escalating major issues to professional tradespersons.
- Advertise vacant units and showcase apartments and offices to potential tenants.
- Coordinate with contractors for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Carry out minor appliance repairs and routine upkeep like painting and drywall patching.
- Ensure safety and security via regular checks.
- Handle physical activities such as moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Tend gardens, water plants, and maintain lawns.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures consistently.
- Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking facilities.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience and Expertise
- Previous experience in cleaning and maintenance within residential buildings.
- Familiarity with paint and wallpaper handling.
- Competence in operating power tools.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a criminal record check for security purposes.
- Own valid driver's license and transportation required.
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks including handling loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs), repetitive actions, and working under pressure.
- Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed.
- Possession of personal tools and equipment is expected.
