Role Overview

The APAC Communications Lead position, based in Singapore, marks Nebius’s inaugural communications hire for the Asia-Pacific region. This role involves developing and implementing the regional communications strategy from the ground up while collaborating with the APAC General Manager and regional team. The position requires hands-on leadership in crafting communications content, pitching stories, preparing spokespersons, managing campaigns, and building vital relationships to support strategic objectives. As Nebius continues to grow, the lead will help expand the communications team, including managing agencies and freelancers.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft a regional communications strategy aligned with commercial goals, market maturity, and Nebius’s global narrative.
• Collaborate closely with the APAC General Manager and leadership to target markets, audiences, and opportunities with the highest communications impact.
• Identify elements of communication to standardize globally versus those needing local adaptation.
• Offer pragmatic communications guidance to regional leaders amid business expansion.
• Establish effective operational processes among regional leadership, global teams, and external partners.
• Maintain awareness of emerging communication trends, risks, and needs in the APAC region.
• Manage day-to-day media relations, storytelling efforts, and communications execution across key markets.
• Create compelling narratives highlighting Nebius’s customers, partners, products, developer communities, and increasing regional footprint.
• Prepare, draft, and refine various communication materials such as announcements, pitches, Q&A documents, briefing notes, and executive messages.
• Coach regional spokespeople for interviews, events, and external engagements.
• Build and nurture relationships with business, technology, and specialized media within the region.
• Coordinate launches and announcements in alignment with global Communications and other business units.
• Respond promptly and effectively to evolving announcements, issues, or opportunities.
• Evaluate the need for agency or freelance support and oversee external partners to ensure outcomes meet objectives, budgets, and quality standards.
• Recommend future hires and capacity-building strategies based on evidence and regional needs.
• Introduce sufficient structure to support high growth without burdening the team with unnecessary processes.
• Foster strong partnerships with APAC General Manager, regional leadership, marketing, sales, partnerships, and go-to-market teams.
• Collaborate with other departments such as hardware infrastructure and government relations as the regional presence expands.
• Balance local autonomy with global alignment, knowing when to escalate issues appropriately.

Candidate Expectations

• Proven practical experience in communications or PR, preferably within cloud computing, B2B tech, or similarly dynamic sectors.
• Ability to translate broad business goals into actionable communications strategies and personally execute the related tasks.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with experience developing communications materials, pitching stories, preparing spokespeople, and managing campaigns or announcements.
• Significant exposure to one or more APAC markets, demonstrating insight into market-specific communications approaches.
• Aptitude for cultivating trust with senior commercial leaders and providing clear, actionable advice.
• Experience managing external partners like agencies and freelancers through effective briefing, collaboration, and performance tracking.
• Excellent command of English in both written and verbal forms.
• Sound decision-making abilities in ambiguous or fast-changing scenarios.
• Aspirations for substantial regional responsibility and long-term growth within the company.
• Working proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AI, cloud infrastructure, data centers, developer tools, or enterprise software sectors.
• Experience facilitating company entry or growth across APAC regions.
• Established relationships with relevant regional media and influencer communities.
• Background in communicating significant customer wins, strategic partnerships, or infrastructure milestones.
• Experience working alongside Government Relations, Public Affairs, or policy units.
• Fluency in an additional APAC language beyond English.
