Role Overview
We are seeking an Analytics Engineer passionate about advancing their individual contributor career by tackling complex data challenges and supporting the development of a modern, self-service analytics platform. This role involves collaborating closely with various teams to create scalable data models, enhance data accessibility, and contribute to technical strategies and standards organization-wide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable DBT data transformation models and analytics workflows.
- Create and sustain business intelligence reports and dashboards using contemporary visualization platforms.
- Collaborate with analysts, product teams, and engineers to translate business needs into reliable data solutions.
- Optimize analytics-ready data models focusing on usability, system performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Establish and uphold data quality validations, testing mechanisms, and comprehensive documentation to bolster confidence in analytical outputs.
- Enhance operational excellence within the analytics infrastructure through automation, consistent monitoring, and iterative improvements.
- Engage in code reviews, share knowledge, and promote engineering best practices at the team level.
- Contribute to defining analytics engineering standards, documentation, and methodologies.
- Support platform-related initiatives such as migrations, model restructuring, governance enhancements, and mitigation of technical debt.
- Interact effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-caliber analytical products.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in SQL and experienced with DBT or equivalent ETL transformation frameworks.
- Skilled in constructing analytics-ready data models and designing reporting solutions.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts, testing strategies, and query performance optimization.
- Knowledgeable about modern software engineering practices including Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Strong analytical thinking coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Collaborative attitude and eagerness to learn in a dynamic, high-velocity environment.
Preferred but Not Required
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or Apache Airflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and contemporary data architecture designs.
- Previous involvement in data platform migration or modernization projects.
- Exposure to observability, monitoring, and strategies ensuring data reliability.
