About CitySwift

CitySwift is a leading global platform specialising in performance optimization for public transport systems, empowering data-driven decisions for major transport networks worldwide. Supported by over €15 million in venture capital, our clients include prominent operators like Go-Ahead Group and Transport for London. Experiencing rapid growth with a projected revenue increase of 117% in 2025, our mission focuses on boosting sustainable public transport adoption globally. Currently, our platform manages optimization for over 3 billion passenger journeys annually, aiming to scale this figure to 10 billion by the end of 2026.

Role Overview

As an Analytics Engineer at CitySwift, you will guarantee that all data consumers across the company rely on a single, high-quality source of truth. Applying software engineering best practices such as version control, testing, and continuous integration, you will enhance our data warehousing processes. Positioned within the Data Analytics team that bridges our technology stack and customers, your role involves scaling our Modern Data Information Layer by developing scalable data models. These models enable our platform to provide real-time insights to leading public transport operators. This role is ideal for those eager to influence business decisions through data, solve large-scale business problems, embrace AI adoption, and thrive in a collaborative, data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data models that address business challenges, adhering to team standards and best data architecture practices. Manage changes using Git workflows and submit pull requests for review.
  • Define and maintain semantic layer views powering customer-facing analytics, including user applications, dashboards, and AI tools, ensuring scalability and reusability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand analytics integration within products and participate in cross-functional meetings while following established deployment protocols.
  • Partner with commercial stakeholders by comprehending core business metrics and KPIs. Address data requests and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Engage in continuous learning by seeking support from senior team members, asking insightful questions, and sharing knowledge. Adhere to team processes and documentation standards.

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years' experience in data-centric roles such as Analytics, Data Engineering, or Business Intelligence.
  • Strong business acumen with a proven ability to translate data insights into impactful outcomes.
  • Expert-level SQL skills including complex window functions, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and query optimization.
  • Thorough knowledge of cloud data warehouse platforms like Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift.
  • Proficiency with Git version control and command line tools, embracing modular programming, DRY principles, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Experience managing large datasets, handling time-series data anomalies, missing values, and complex joins without pipeline disruption.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of articulating complex data concepts and defending architectural choices grounded in technical and business considerations.
  • A degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or similar fields, or equivalent demonstrated experience scaling modern data infrastructure.

Employee Benefits

  • Opportunities for meaningful impact with visible results, periodic salary reviews aligned with company growth, and clear career progression within an expanding international business.
  • Comprehensive health and life insurance plans via Laya Healthcare (Ireland) and Aviva (UK).
  • Flexible work arrangements with a hybrid model in Ireland, core working hours from 10am to 4pm, options for full remote work dependent on role, and a program permitting up to 6 weeks of working abroad.
  • 25 days of annual leave starting from day one, increasing by half a day per year of service, plus additional company holidays and an end-of-year shutdown.
  • Enhanced family leave policies including six months fully paid maternity leave and three weeks paid paternity leave after 18 months of service, along with wedding leave.
  • Additional benefits include a progressive pension matching scheme, paid sick leave, a bike-to-work initiative, wellness support programs, and an employee referral incentive up to €4,000 or equivalent.
